Commissioning Deadline The solar PV system must be successfully commissioned by 31 December 2026, or before the allocation is fully distributed.
Why Start Early? Installation involves assessment, application, installation and TNB-related procedures.

How Does SuRIA Home Work With Solar ATAP?

SuRIA Home and Solar ATAP are related but serve different purposes.

Solar ATAP

Allows eligible consumers in Peninsular Malaysia to install solar PV systems for self-consumption, with surplus electricity handled according to the programme mechanism.

SuRIA Home

Provides an additional one-time cash rebate to eligible domestic Solar ATAP customers who meet the programme requirements.

In simple terms
Install Eligible Solar PV → Participate in Solar ATAP → Meet SuRIA Home Requirements → Receive Eligible Rebate

How Much Solar Does Your Home Need?

The rebate should not be the only factor when choosing your solar system size. Your installer should assess your actual electricity usage and home requirements.

✓ Monthly TNB electricity consumption
✓ Current electricity bill
✓ Daytime electricity usage
✓ Available roof space
✓ Single-phase or three-phase supply
✓ Future electricity needs
✓ Battery storage requirements
Important: The suitable system size depends on your actual electricity usage rather than simply choosing the maximum rebate amount.

Is the RM3,000 Rebate the Main Reason to Install Solar?

The rebate can help reduce the cost of an eligible solar investment, but your potential electricity savings should also be considered.

A proper solar assessment should look at:

TNB Bill → Solar Generation → Self-Consumption → Electricity Savings → System Cost → Payback Period
